How to Get a Credit Limit Increase on Your Secured Card
You can increase your credit limit, up to a maximum of $2,500, by providing additional security funds – we’ll increase your limit by $1 for every $1 in additional funds you send in after we obtain your express consent. If you provide us with additional security funds but do not provide the required express consent by the expiry date outlined, the additional security funds will be credited to your account. This feature is not available for Quebec residents with an Annual Interest Rate (excluding default rate) above 22%, and is subject to approval.
Please note that if you send in additional funds that would take your credit limit above $2,500, we’ll add the funds to your security funds balance but won't increase your limit.
In addition, any additional security funds you send that increases your credit limit but aren’t a whole dollar amount will be rounded down to the nearest whole dollar. For example, if your credit limit is $300 and you sent in $100.54 in additional security funds, this would increase your credit limit to $400 when rounded down to the nearest whole dollar. If you later sent in an additional $0.50 in security funds, that would increase your credit limit to $401 ($300 + $100.54 + $0.50 = $401.04, or $401 when rounded down to the nearest whole dollar). If applicable, your new credit limit will appear on your statement within one billing period.
