Browser FAQs
How to check what browser or browser version I’m using?
Get details about your current browser at https://www.whatsmybrowser.org/, a third-party website that will open in a new window. (Please note that Capital One doesn't own or control whatsmybrowser.org, so security or privacy practices may be different). Once you know your browser, you can check the download link in this article for any available upgrades.
Why do I need to upgrade my browser?
For security reasons, browsers occasionally stop supporting older versions when new versions are released. To help keep your account secure, we may not allow you to access your accounts online using an older, discontinued browser. If this happens, you’ll need to upgrade to the newer supported version to continue using online banking.
What browser settings do I need to use the Capital One website?
Your browser must be able to accept cookies. You won’t be able to access any secured pages if you set your privacy setting to ‘Block All Cookies’. You’ll also need JavaScript enabled to access many of our products and services.
What do I do if my browser is not supported?
While we generally don’t stop you from using browsers not listed in this article, we can’t guarantee that all features will work as expected. We continually test our site with the suggested browsers to ensure the newest versions meet our security and usability standards. For the best experience, we recommend you use a browser that is listed in the suggested browser list.
