If, for any reason, we're unable to process your balance transfer, we'll notify you and try to help you resubmit the transfer request if possible.

If Capital One pays off the entire amount, will my other accounts be closed?

Please note that Capital One won’t close any accounts you have with other creditors when you transfer a balance – even if it's entire balance you’re transferring.

How long does it take for the transfer to be processed?

Most balance transfers take three to four weeks to process, but in rare cases, your balance transfer could take up to six weeks to be processed.

Can I transfer a balance at any time?

You can transfer balances to your Capital One card whenever you want. Standard balance transfers are made at the standard balance transfer rate.

What information do I need to transfer a balance?

To transfer a balance, you’ll need: The name and address of the Canadian creditor you’re transferring a balance from. The credit card or account number where the balance is today.
