All About Credit Keeper
Credit Keeper is an online tool from Capital One that gives you access to your TransUnion® credit score for free. Credit Keeper won’t harm your credit score, no matter how often you check it. Anyone in Canada can use Credit Keeper.
The credit score you’ll see in Credit Keeper is calculated by TransUnion, based on information from your credit report. TransUnion is one of the major reporting agencies in Canada. Lenders may request your score from TransUnion or from another source – they may also look at other relevant information when determining your eligibility for credit.
Once you’ve enrolled in Credit Keeper, we encourage you to check your score regularly as we refresh it weekly. Just sign in to Credit Keeper online, or sign in through your online banking account or the mobile app to access Credit Keeper.

I’ve checked my credit score elsewhere and see a different score in Credit Keeper. Why?
The credit reporting agencies can use different models to calculate your credit score, so depending on where you check, you may get a different result. In addition, your score can change over time – if it’s been a while since you last checked, you may see a different score now in Credit Keeper.
Why is Credit Keeper free?
If you request your credit score from one of the credit reporting agencies, you’ll typically pay a fee, but Capital One is providing Credit Keeper for free.
We want you to be able to easily access your credit score, see how your score changes and learn what could impact it. We’re also committed to finding new and innovative ways to help you succeed with credit and work towards your financial goals, and Credit Keeper is another way we’re hoping to do just that.
