Canada Post Service Disruptions
The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) may initiate strike action against Canada Post if they’re unable to reach an agreement before May 22. A strike may cause delivery delays for the following items from Capital One:
- Credit cards (new and replacement cards)
- Statements
- Letters
- Cheques
- Gift cards
We appreciate your patience and understanding. Please visit the Canada Post website for the latest updates.
Digital tools available to you
Explore our digital tools to keep your account up to date during the Canada Post service disruption.
Cards
If you’re waiting for a replacement card because your old card has expired or was damaged, you can continue to use your card through Google Wallet. See how to add your card to the Google Wallet app.
If you’ve recently applied for a new credit card or you’re expecting a replacement card because your old card was lost or stolen, you may experience delays. If you’ve received your new card but are waiting for the PIN, call us and we’ll help activate your card.
Payments
You are still required to make your credit card payments on time to keep your account in good standing. We don’t recommend mailing us your payment during a strike. Instead, you can easily pay your credit card bill online.
You can find your account’s minimum monthly payment and payment due date information in our mobile app, online banking and your statement, or by calling our automated phone system at 1-800-481-3239.
We also recommend setting up Auto Pay on your account to help ensure you never miss a payment.
Statements and letters
The delivery of paper statements and letters for your account may be delayed. We recommend that you go paperless, which means you’ll only receive your statements and letters electronically. And you can then view statements online through your Capital One online banking account.
