How to make purchases using your Capital One Mastercard

In a store, you can make purchases using your Capital One Mastercard by:

  • Tapping or holding your card over a payment terminal (also called contactless payments). Contactless payments are one of the most secure ways to pay. We’re unable to remove the tap feature on your Capital One Mastercard.
  • Inserting the chip side of your card into the payment terminal and then entering your four-digit personal identification number (PIN) if prompted.
  • Swiping your card using the magnetic stripe through the payment terminal.

For online purchases, you can enter your credit card information in the payment details to make purchases.

Add your card to Google Wallet

You can also add your Capital One Mastercard to Google Wallet and use your phone to tap and pay in-store or online.
