How to Activate a Replacement Card
You can track the status of your replacement card in the mobile app by accessing the Card tracker from the More menu.
Once you’ve received your replacement card, call our automated activation system at 1-888-655-5646. Be sure to have your new credit card with you when you call. Your PIN will be the same as before. Your card will be ready to use once it’s been activated.
If you still have your old card but it’s being replaced because it’s been damaged, you’ll receive a new card with the same number on it. In this case, no activation is required.
Here are some things to keep in mind when you get a replacement card:
- Update all recurring payments with your new card number and/or expiry date
- Update your card number if you make payments to your Capital One card through your bank’s online banking service
